The next educational event organised by the ISACA MALTA CHAPTER will be held on the 23rd March between 18:00 and 20:00. The topic to be tackled during this event is "The Economics of the Green Agenda in Information Technology”. The event will be held at the Radisson Blu Resort in St. Julians. The event is eligible for CISA/CISM CPE Hours. We are awaiting approval for MIA CPE hours. Book Here The speaker of this event is Mr. Anton Cristina – General Manager, at Computer Solutions Malta Anton joined Computer Solutions in Q3 2008. He comes with a wealth of experience within the IT Industry gained overseas. Before re-locating to Malta, Anton worked with big blue IBM Ireland. He worked with IBM Global Services consulting customers on E-business Hosting, Business Continuity & Recovery Services, Organizational Strategy & Change. Anton has cross Industry experience and went on to running the SMB Territory in Ireland and drove IBM’s Systems integrator capabilities in the Irish Market. For this event, Anton will identify and discuss the relevant issues of The Green Agenda and the economic and other benefits that technology brings to the table through consolidation, cloud computing and virtualization. He will discuss how these issues are shaping business strategies in today’s economic climate. In addition Anton will touch on the challenges C-level Executives face as they aim to strike a balance between a green IT strategy and a green balance sheet. The event will interest CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, CTOs, Data Centre Managers, IT Architects, Software Developers, Testers, Auditors, as well IT Auditors from all industry sectors. 22nd April 2010 (N.B. Date has been postponed due to air traffic problems and the inability for speakers to travel to Malta. New date for May will be communicated soon) Update - Conference is now being held on 21st May 2010 The ISACA MALTA CHAPTER is holding a one day conference on the 22nd of April titled "Trust in and Value from Information Systems". The conference shall be addressed by the The Hon. Tonio Fenech, Minister of Finance, The Economy and Investment, and the key note address shall be delivered by Ing. Philip Micallef, Executive Chairman of the Malta Communications Authority. The content delivered by the international speakers shall address challenges supported by global best practices, strategies, and structures of an efficient IT governance framework in modern enterprises. Attendees will depart this conference with an enhanced understanding of effective IT governance practices. Strategic challenges that will be discussed and presented shall include Governance of IT Enabled Investments, Implementing Better Governance of IT, IT Assurance, and IT Risk Management.

The speaker of this event is Mr. Nuno Fernandes, Manager - Systems & Technology, at Systec Limited (Malta).
Over the last 6 years, Nuno has been running the Enterprise Servers, Storage, DR&BC and Enterprise Virtualization Solutions division focusing on the enterprise market segment. At Systec Limited he wad the opportunity to work with blue chip customers with a WW reputation, and had the privilege to manage/grow the key strategic partnership network, establishing solid relationships in order to better fulfil the customer's requirements. Currently he is also managing the enterprise service delivery team at Systec Limited which has the responsibility for project implementation & project lifecycle support to our corporate customers. Prior to joining Systec Limited , he was Technical Consultant at HP Germany, a Systems Engineer at GE Capital IT Solutions and a Systems Engineer at Portugal Telecom.
