Introduction

The ISACA MALTA CHAPTER may be asked to communicate to its members notices of events and training opportunities held locally and abroad that may be of interest to its membership.

Objective

The objective of this policy is to provide a communication and notification channel to our members for events and training opportunities organised and managed by 3rd parties in a controlled and fair manner, which are of interest and benefit to the membership.

Policy

This policy shall cater for Non-Profit Third Party and For-Profit Third Party.

The ISACA MALTA CHAPTER will accept to notify to its members of events and training opportunities by 3rd parties with content that is of interest to IT Governance, Assurance and Security practitioners.

The communication presented shall satisfy the following requirements:

  • Content shall be of interest to the membership: namely it shall cover IT Governance, IT Assurance or Security Management content.
  • Information regarding third party events will not be disseminated if the event conflicts with existing ISACA MALTA CHAPTER events with regard to timing and/or messaging.
  • The content shall not be product/vendor specific.
  • The provider may consider special discounts to ISACA members, however this is not mandatory
  • The communication shall be made available electronically to the chapter members either via a link to the website of the 3rd party or to the Chapter website. Both methods are acceptable.
  • Only English language or Maltese language communications and events will be considered.
  • The Chapter will not be made liable for any infringements to copyright or other restrictions that could be made by any of its members.
  • ISACA MALTA CHAPTER reserves the right to withdraw the notification on its website at its discretion.
  • Any information that conflicts with ISACA’s policies, standards or values will not be disseminated.

 

Upon receipt of a communication request and prior to disseminating any communications, the Chapter will determine whether a reciprocal payment in the form of a Chapter communication request should be made with the Requestor. Examples of reciprocal communications are Chapter event announcements and co-sponsorships, flyers, newsletters, advertisements, and any other communications deemed appropriate by the Chapter.

Any communication may be refused for communication by the Board of the ISACA MALTA CHAPTER at its absolute discretion.

ISACA MALTA CHAPTER shall consider communicating to its members  the event either through:

  • An email to members
  • Details published in the appropriate section on website
  • Newsletter by the ISACA MALTA CHAPTER
  • Communication made available during ISACA MALTA CHAPTER events
  • Communication mailed to members

Applicability

Any legal or natural person or persons may submit a request for distribution of communication amongst its membership and/or publishing on the ISACA MALTA CHAPTER website. Any legal or natural person or persons whose communication satisfies the requirements of this policy and have requested the Chapter to notify its members will have their name/s published on the ISACA MALTA CHAPTER website.
